Introduction

Before we get too far into our review, and for total disclosure, I must tell you that I now own one of these Samsung T220HD 22” Monitors.  After I completed my tests of this monitor, I couldn’t resist or let this one go back; so, I called the supplier and ordered one for myself. Didn’t want the test unit.. I kind of abuse them a little you know; it’s part of the job.

Features / Performance

Of this monitor doesn’t have, then you don’t need it or it doesn’t exist. This LCD monitor is actually a HDTV designed to be used with your PC. Moreover, and in addition to the standard PC connection ports, it also offers component and optical video input connections; theses are very hard to find on a computer monitor. It has surround sound speakers; and it also even has its own remote control. No, I am not talking about one of those little rat-sized, funky PC remote controller things either; I mean a real, fully functional TV remote control.

Although the Samsung TT220HD was designed to be used with your computer, it is a high quality HDTV TV also; it has a real HDTV tuner directly built into its cabinet. It uses an awesome widescreen format and is ready to plug and go with your favorite game console.

Performance is also outstanding. The Samsung T220HD 22 inch LCD HDTV Monitor is like really awesome and super fast in terms of its performance; it boasts a very fast 5 ms response time, which results in no ghosting or image blur. It is also very bright, with a brightness rating of 300 cd/m sq. Very easy to see – even in bright rooms. If you ever used a poor quality LCD, then you know why this is important.

Picture quality is remarkable; colors are vibrant and natural. Blacks, whites and grays are also displayed in a superb manner.  In addition, text is the very clear and easy-to-read.

Sound quality is good, but not quite excellent. Therefore, if you want really good sound, then connect to an external audio system. The remote control works just like the remote of a standard sized TV. Finally, the T220HD LCD monitor can be wall mounted. The wall-mount doesn’t come with the unit, but it can be ordered from Samsung.
