Introduction

For the sake of all concerned, and in the interest of total disclosure, I must tell you that I now own one a Samsung P2370HD 22” Monitor.  I just couldn’t stop myself; after I finished testing this monitor, I called the vendor and ordered one of my very own.

Features / Performance

Although the Samsung TP2370HD is primarily intended to be used with your personal computer, it is a very good HDTV television as well; it utilizes a genuine HDTV tuner integrated into its design. It also offers an incredible 16:9 widescreen format and is ready to provide you with hours of fun with your favorite console games.

As far as features are concerned, if this monitor doesn’t have it, then you should probably check to see if that features even exists. This LCD monitor is actually a HDTV masquerading as a high-end PC monitor. In addition to  offering the standard PC connection options, this TV also can lay claim to having component and optical video input connections; these are so hard find on a computer monitor. It has good quality speakers; and you’ll love this, it even has its own remote control. No, I mean really! No one of those teency weency toy remotes you sometimes see with PCs; this is a full-fledged and fully functional TV remote control.

The P2370HD also does extremely well in the performance department. The Samsung P2370HD Monitor blitzed through our tests to show us how fast it really is; it boasts an exceptionally fast 5 ms response time, any will see no ghosting or image blur. It is also has a very impressive brightness rating of 300 cd/m sq. This can be very important when viewing the monitor in well lit areas. If you have ever used a older or lower quality LCD, then you probably have some experience with this annoyance.

Sound quality is pretty good, but I wished it was better. So, you may need to connect some high end computer speakers to round out your mini theater setup. The remote control works the same any other quality remote for a regular TV. Finally, the P2370HD LCD monitor offers an option for wall mounting. The wall-mount isn’t included in the box, but it can easily be purchased direct from Samsung.
