Hot Product Reviews – The Samsung LN32B460 32 In. 720p LCD HDTV
Introduction
A friend of mine that owns a very successful retail electronics website contacted me last week, and asked me if would review the Samsung LN32B460. He said that he’s been selling quite a few of them, and wanted me to give it the once over. (That happens sometimes. I guess the word is out; there’s a new review sheriff in town.) Anyway, I agreed; and a couple of days later this thing shows up at the office. Let’s talk about what I found out about this jewel of 32” LCD TV.
The Good
After only a few minutes on my bench, it was easy to ascertain why the Samsung LN32B460 is selling so well; there’s a lot to a like about this TV. For instance, the connection choices are awesome in a LCD TV of this size and price; it comes with 3 HDMI ports, 2 Component Video connections and has a PC port connection. That’s pretty impressive for an LCD under $600.
With a contrast ratio of 50,000:1 and a 6ms response time, the Samsung LN32B460 32-Inch LCD offers above average performance. While playing games on the Xbox and PS3 (Yeah, I get paid to play games) or watching fast action-motion movies, there was absolutely no discernable ghosting or blur. Colors were very vibrant and excellent; as were the richness and pure deep display qualities of black, white and grey shades.
Sound quality was exceptional; and you shouldn’t need to use an external audio system; unless, you just like it really CRUNK-UP! The remote is really nice and durable; and picked up all peripherals and configured them easily.
But, the best thing about this TV is the picture quality – Wicked Awesome, Dude! The picture is vibrant, warm and life-like. I don’t care that it’s only a 720p television; at 32” 1080p wouldn’t make one iota of difference. In fact, this TV looks better than many 1080p TVs I have tested.
The Bad
Not much, actually. I would have liked to have seen USB or Picture In Picture functionality; but at the price, I suppose you can’t ask for everything. Besides that, I have no other complaints.
The Ugly
Nothing! Except, how bad it makes other TVs in this price range actually look.
Conclusion
Great TV for a little money. It’s not rocket science. Buy it!
