Samsung LCD TVs have always been know for packing a lot of features into a TV with a little price, and this one is no exception. There are so many cool features in fact, I couldn’t possibly go over them all here; but, I will discuss the features I really think you know about in this TV.
The Samsung LN46B550 HDTV LCD has so many connections; it is hard to imagine there could possibly be something you couldn’t connect to this TV. Whether it is HDMI, USB, component video, the PC – whatever, there is a place for it, and most likely more than one.
The LN46B550 uses a QAM tuner which provides major network HDTV broadcasts out-of-the-box and doesn’t require a separate set-top box to watch your favorite local channels in HDTV. The TV offers enhanced game mode that produces a realistic, true-action like gaming experience. In addition, Samsung’s Red Touch of Color generates a really neat ambient light that puts out a gentle glow and enhances your viewing experience.
Picture quality on the Samsung LN46B550 is absolutely incredible, and “breathtaking” might actually be a better word. With this TV watching HDTV broadcasts or your favorite Blu-Ray DVD movie, is an almost theatre like experience. The picture is just simply amazing. Boasting a 70,000:1 contrast ratio, and a very fast 6ms response time, the LN46B550 displays your fast action video games and videos better than you have seen them. There is virtually no ghosting or motion blurring present.
The remote control is well laid out, durably made and is very comfortable to the touch. In addition, the remote recognizes and configures external peripheral device with ease.
About the only thing I wasn’t crazy about with this TV was the sound quality. I wish it would have been just a little better. Had it been, you may have seen me use the term perfection for this LCD HDTV television. Considering how well Samsung televisions usually sound, I was somewhat surprised.
Conclusion
Connect a stereo to this TV, and you are virtually in the movie theatre. With a great price and even better performance and picture quality, this TV is one you really need to consider.
