Awesome HDTV Reviews – The Samsung LN37B550 37-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV with Red Touch of Color
Introduction
The Samsung LN37B550 LCD HDTV is a truly high end LCD television that is currently enjoying increased demand among home theater enthusiasts. The Samsung LN37B550 LCD HDTV offers premium features and performance at a somewhat expensive price. Today we see if this TV is really as good as people say that it is.
Features / Performance
I will go away from my normal review process today, and I won’t go into a whole lot of detail regarding the feature and performance of the Samsung LN37B550; because in terms of both features and performance, there is not anything on the market today better in a 37 inch television – at any price.
What all those people are saying is true; the LN37B550 offers amazing contrast ratio and response time, near-perfect picture clarity and depth, superb color display and too much more to cover here. Simply put, performance of the LN37B550 is incredible and second to none in this size range. Picture quality is breathtaking and you will see no ghosting or image blurring. As good as they get with this TV.
Also, the LN37B550 has every feature that you could ever imagine in a TV of this size. It has more connection options than you will probably ever need, has excellent sound supports a host of peripherals.
But a few thoughts…
This LCD HDTV is amazing. But as good as it is, I am having a hard time recommending this TV. It sounds a little crazy, I know. But there is reason in my madness. This television is just too expensive, especially if you consider the fact that Samsung offers 720p 37 inch LCD models, which offer comparable features and performance, for a lot less money.
If you follow my reviews, then you know how I feel about 1080p technology. I think 1080P is sort of useless in smaller sized LCD televisions (and plasma TVs too for that matter); it is nearly impossible to discern the difference between 720p and 1080p picture quality on a TV of this size. If you can, please let me know how you do it.
After careful consideration, I just can’t rationalize the greater than $300 price difference between the 1080p and the 720p versions of this Samsung LCD TV. However, if having 1080p makes you happy or more comfortable, then go for it; after all, it is a great TV, and you definitely won’t be disappointed.
