Introduction

First off, out of respect for total disclosure, I must tell you that I now own this monitor: I didn’t before the review, but I do now! So, doing this review will be really easy for me.

Features / Performance

This monitor has everything; I mean there is nothing missing. It is literally an HDTV design for your computer. It not only includes the standard PC connection ports, but also comes with component and optical video input connections; which is unheard of in a PC monitors. It has surround sound speakers; and get this, it even comes with a remote. I am not talking about one of those little cheesy PC remotes either; I mean a real full-fledged remote control.

Although designed specifically for use with a computer, it is a real HDTV TV also; it includes a genuine HDTV tuner built right in. It uses a beautiful widescreen format and is completely compatible with most console games.

Performance is outstanding. The Samsung T220HD 22 inch LCD HDTV Monitor is like a thoroughbred racehorse in terms of performance; it boasts a 5 ms response time, which means it is excellent for use with your high-speed games or fast action movies. The brightness rating on this LCD HDTV Monitor is also exceptional and is rated at 300 cd/m sq.; which simply means that the monitor is as easily viewable in very bright rooms as it is in darker rooms. If you’ve ever used a lesser LCD monitor, and found yourself squinting to view the screen because of the sunlight; then you know what I mean.

Picture quality is exceptional; colors are vibrant and true. Blacks, whites and grays are, likewise, equally impressive. With a dot pitch of less than .26, Text is the silky-smooth and easy-to-read. No matter what the task, viewing this monitor is a joy.

Sound quality is adequate, but not exactly hi-fi. Therefore, if you’re really into good sound, then get external speakers. The remote control is amazing and works just like a remote for a huge TV. Last, but certainly not least, is the ability of the T220HD LCD monitor to be wall mounted. The wall-mount isn’t included, but can be purchased separately from Samsung.

Conclusion

I like this monitor so much; I had to have my own. Well. Now I do.
