Introduction

Before we get started and for the sake of total disclosure, I must inform you that I am now an owner of the Samsung T220HD 22” Monitor.  After the review, I simply could not let this one go; so, I called the vendor and bought it!

Features / Performance

This monitor lacks nothing; I mean there is not a single thing you need missing. It is very literally an HDTV designed to be used with your computer. In addition to the standard type PC connection ports, it also has component and optical video input connections; which is very hard to find in a PC monitor. It offers surround sound speakers; and it even comes with a remote control. I do not mean one of those little cheesy PC remote controller thingys either; I mean a real honest to goodness TV remote control.

While the Samsung TT220HD was designed specifically for use with a computer, it is a true HDTV TV also; it has a genuine HDTV tuner directly integrated into its design. It uses a very sexy widescreen format and is ready to plug and play with most video game consoles.

Performance is exceptional. The Samsung T220HD 22 inch LCD HDTV Monitor is like a Formula One race car in the way that it performs; it has a 5 ms response time, which means it is great when viewing your high-speed video games or fast action movies. With a brightness rating of 300 cd/m sq, this LCD HDTV Monitor can produce exceptionally bright contrast levels; which simply means that the monitor is as easy to look at in very bright rooms as it is in darker rooms. If you’ve ever used a lower quality LCD monitor, and found yourself squinting to view the screen because of too much light; then you already know what I am talking about.

Picture quality is exceptional; colors are realistic and vibrant. Blacks, whites and grays are also excellent. Displayed text is the very clear easy-to-read. There is not a whole lot this monitor can’t do.

Sound quality is adequate, but not exactly hi-fi. Therefore, if you want really good sound, then get external speakers. The remote control works just like a remote for a huge TV. Finally, the T220HD LCD monitor can be wall mounted. The wall-mount isn’t included, but can be ordered directly from Samsung.

Conclusion
