Durable Noise Maker – The Samsung SyncMaster 920BM 19-inch LCD Monitor

The Samsung SyncMaster 920BM 19 Inch LCD Monitor was designed with one stated purpose in mind – to be a rock solid, reliable workhorse monitor in the home or small office. Fantastic build quality, stereo speakers and a money saving low price, make this a perfect choice for getting the work done without too many distractions. Not a lot of fancy gadgets here, but the monitor performs admirably indeed.
Features and Performance
The SyncMaster 920BM 19” LCD Monitor has everything you truly need in a monitor covered, and doesn’t waste your time with a lot fluff in the way of extras. It was produced to be used in the workplace and its 19 inch screen is large enough for those multitasking operations or working on long spreadsheets.
With a very wide 160 degree wide viewing angle, the SyncMaster 920BM monitor allows two or more people to view application and work from the screen at the same time without too much glare or shadowing. The SyncMaster 920BM is not the best performing LCD monitor we have saw here in out lab; however, it is more than capable of handling the toughest business related business tasks.
The SyncMaster 920BM displays color naturally and accurately, and displays text and images with great clarity. The SyncMaster also helps make your desk a little bigger, by having decent sounding speakers that are built into the monitor itself; so, you don’t waste space with external speakers.
The 920BM’s color and brightness display abilities are very good. Colors are displayed accurately and in a vibrant fashion. Shades of black, white and grey are deep and pure. The monitor’s color matching abilities produces good RGB or CMYK colors accurately for output to devices such as ink-printers or PDF generation software.
The only thing we didn’t like about the Samsung SyncMaster 920BM 19” LCD Monitor was the unit’s dot pitch; at .294mm this is somewhat higher than we would have liked to have seen in this monitor. Regardless, text imaging is very good and suitable for extended text viewing without too much eyestrain.
Finally, the SyncMaster performed very admirably in our power consumption level tests, and should help you keep that power bill under control.
Conclusion
The SyncMaster 920BM is a durable and dependable LCD monitor that handles the mundane, everyday tasks in an office environment effortlessly and with ease; its low energy use and inexpensive price tag make it a great choice for use in any office.
